I may have mentioned this before, but going to coffee shops is a national pastime in Vietnam. You just go there and enjoy one of many delicious drinks, and maybe a cake too, if you’re feeling so inclined (I always am).
This place was good, but the brownie left a little to be desired. It should have been much better. I mean, the coffee shop was called ‘Brownie’. You would have thought they would have found a decent brownie recipe. But no. Still, it’s not surprising. The Vietnamese aren’t big cake lovers like us Westerners are. They much prefer sweet soup (chè in Vietnamese).
It’s basically just sugar. But damn tasty. You have it with ice, so it’s nice and cool on a hot day. There are lots of different types. And yes, in case you were wondering, they do have one with durian.
